Obituary
MR. A. MCDONALD The death occurred in the Pallia tut: Hospital on Alonday of Air. Alexander McDonald, in his 78th year. It will bi remembered that Air. McDonald had a bad turn a few days ago while spending the holidays with his brother, Air, Charles McDonald, of Ross Street. Following this he was conveyed to the Pahiatua Hospital and only had short periods of consciousness between this and the time of his death. The late gentleman was a native of New Plymouth, but had farmed a holding in the Pongaroa district for the past 35 years. He was predeceased by his wife seven years ago. He is survived by liis brother, ot Woodville, and three sons and two daughters—Alessrs Douglas, Bruco and Wallace AlcDonald, and Alisscs Ruby and Myrtle McDonald. When a boy living in New Plymouth, the lato Air. McDonald, together with his father and mother and their children, was one of the few families to escape the Whitecliffs massacre. This was brought about through the intervention of one of the friendly . halfcastes in the district.
