Robert George Tapscott, of Cardiff, aged 19, and Welbcrt Roy Widdecombe, of Neuport, aged 24, have flown to Nassau from Eieuthera (Bahamas). They are the survivors of the Anglo Saxon sunk by a raider 500 miles south-west of the Azores on August 21. They sailed 2500 miles in a 16-foot boat. They caught rainwater but had no water /jr eight days. They ate seaw r eed, one flying fish and one garfish in 55 days. A farmer at Eieuthera saw them crawling along the beach. Seven were originally in the boat, but two who w ere wounded when the raider machinegunned the boats died, two jumped overboard and one committed suicide.
