In Appreciation of Services.
At the meeting of the United Guild yesterday the resignation of Miss M. Jones as assistant-secretary in of her approaching departure for New Plymouth, was received with sincere regret and appreciation of her valued services placed on record. Speaking to the motion, Major Mrs. Dick (chairman) paid warm tribute to the services of Miss Jones which had been so willingly j given. In her work in the city Miss Jones had endeared herself to all and in taking up her fresh duties in New Plymouth the speaker felt her work would continue to be blessed and her influence felt in the cause of righteousness—that the citizens would open their hearts to her there as here. Miss Jones ’ removal to New Plymouth was that centre’s gain and the speaker trusted she would long be spared to continue her good offices. Miss Jones briefly thanked the members.
