FEILDING LIVE STOCK SALE

Little Response in Run Cattle Prices EAT SHEEP SUPPER SET BACK BEEF PRICES FAIRLY FIRM The offering of run cattle at the Fcilding live stock sale yesterday drew little response from the attendance notwithstanding the recent rains over the district. There is still an absence of cattle feed to justify buying with confidence and as one farmer put it, the feed was being eaten up as fast as it appeared. Actually the countryside reflects a dearth of cattle feed and thi3 is responsible for retarding movements in cattle. Most of the offerings yesterday were passed in but a few sales were recorded at prices reflecting the want of confidence prevailing. A good yarding of ewe and wether mutton suffered a set-back in prices, the market being weaker throughout. Store sheep were yarded in small numbers with only au odd pen of good quality sheep. Values were sustained for the best lots. The beef market was fairly firm, the bulk of the business taking place in the cx-dairy cattlo section. A mixed quality yarding of dairy stoclc came forward and these sold on a quality basis. Hogget Mutton.
