2 FAREWELLED BY Y.M.C.A. Three members of the Palmerston North Y.M.C.A., Messrs T. Twigge, B. j Stableford and L. Francis, who have joined the Royal .New Zealand Air Force, were farewelled at a social and dance on Wednesday evening. Alessra . Twigge and Stableford will be stationi ed at Wigram and Mr. Francis at Otahuhu. I Mr. T. R. Hodder, president of the . Board of Directors, who made the pre- ; sentations, spoke of the excellent work , done by these gentlemen. Mr. Hodder, ; who presented Mr. Twigge with an j illuminated address, spoxo of tho good | ■ work done by him during the past 15 years. He mentioned that Mr. Twigge ! . had worked up from the junior rnen’sj . division in Palmerston North, and for , 10 years had been a member of the , senior leaders' corps. He also spoke of . the prominent part Air. Twigge had taken in the association's work, j Mr. Hodder also spoke of the good | work done by Messrs Stableford and * Francis, although they had not been in j the Y.M.C.A. for a very long period. He presented both with a wallet, i Other members of the board eulogised the work done by the departing members of the association. | Prior to their departure to take up duty with the Royal New Zealand Air Force, Messrs T. Twigge and R. Penney, of the commercial department of the Manawatu Evening Standard, were met by the proprietary and staff of the company and made the recipients of suitable gifts, good wishes also being conveyed to them.
