Lytton Street School O.P.A.

ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual general mooting of the Lytton Street School Old Pupils’ Association was held in the school on Wednesday evening. The annual report and balance-sheet were received, the election of officers for the ensuing year being as follows: Patron, Mr. Geo. Wilkinson; president, Air. B. Parsonage; vice-president, Air. I. Mandahl; secretary, Miss T. Aloore; committee, Mrs. Hayden, Misses E. True, D. Jefferies, B. Thompson, D. Wood and Air. D. True. The retiring president, Air. R. Eddlcstou extended a welcome to the new president. In recognition of her splendid services during the past year, an honorarium was granted to tho secretary, while it was decided to donate £3 3s to the school to assist expenses incurred in the erection of wire netting around windows and tennis courts.

It was agreed that association badges be ordered, the design of these to follow as nearly as possible the school badge in shape and colouring.

Air. L. Jenkins was made an honorary member in view of splendid service to the association, especially at dances during the past season. It was agreed a letter of thanks be forwarded to Mr. C. V. Jewell for his auditing of the association’s books, one also to Air. K. Flavell for the construction of a ladder for the tennis club.

A silver cup was presented by the vice-president to the tennis club for competition, the rules governing play for this trophy to be decided at the next meeting of the committee. Alembers expressed the wish that they would give assistance to the Parents’ Association on Parents’ Day at the school.

A complaint was received regarding an irresponsible person outside tho school, who had driven a car over a portion of the tennis courts and it was decided that steps be taken to prevent a recurrence of this.

A donation of £1 Is was received from Air. James Knight, whose late son. James Easby Knight, was one of the early pupils of the school.
