Pahiatua Bowling Club

ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting Of the Pahiatua Bowling Club was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Saturday evening last. Mr. L. T. Herbert presided over a good attendance. As a mark of respect members stood in silence, for during the year, Messrs J. Mnnson (life member) and J. Murphy (chairman of the green committee) had passed away. On account of leaving the district, Mr. J. T. Ross had resigned. Mr. G. W. Chatwin apologised for not being aDle to attend. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. C. H. Arrow; president, Mr. L. T. Herbert; vice-presidents, Dr. H. Paterson, Mr. W. Britland and Mr. G. Russell; secretary, Mr. V. J. Scott; treasurer, Mr. L. A. Truscott; hon. auditor, Mr. A. A. Vaughan; selection committee, Messrs P. Walsh, G. Kershaw and R. Pilkinton; delegates to Manawatu Centre, Messrs G. H. Hodd and R. Gregory; general committee, Messrs R. Pilkinton, G. Gregory, J. Mills and C. Petersen; grounds committee, Messrs R. Pilkinton, V. G. Boyens, P. Walsh and R. Gregory; refreshment committee, Messrs R. Pilkinton, J. Mills and C. Petersen; competition committee, Messrs P. Walsh, Goer, R. Gregory and C. Petersen.

Presentation of trophies: Senior singles, R. H. Taylor; intermediate singles, R. Davey; senior pairs, G. Kershaw and W. Britland; junior pairs, V. G. Boyens and R. Sedcole; junior singles, S. Cottier. The following new members were elected: Messrs J. Milne Allan, G. Ancell, J. Hutton and V. Levy.
