The course was in great order and tho weather could not have been better. Following are tho detailed results, Manawatu players being mentioned first:— K. S. Glendinning halved with J. Hape. V. The leading pair, Glendinning and j Hape, had a great fight but when Hapc who was playing consistently good golf, won tlie fourteenth where Glendinning’s drive finished in a bunker < a divot mark, it seemed certain that Glen dinning would have to produce bis best Ito pull the game out of tho fire. At Land’* End he had notched a I birdie 3 to lead ono up, but ilape I evened that up with a two at Lagoon Hill At the sixteenth the Dannevirke man looked up and his second finished well short. It was a chaneo for Manawatu but Glendinning threw it away by [landing his second pin high in the bunker. Qe played a great recovery shot, | however, and lie ran down tho putt for jtho birdie four and the win. They were {square with two to play and there was no alteration. A recovery shot by Glendinning at Ti Ti’s was a classic. His second had finished close to the trees near tho green and he rose it abruptly to finish past the flag. Sutherland played great golf, going out against T. Irwin, and he was 3-up at the turn. Sutherland then seemed to relax a bit and before he got going again Irwin, who was getting tougher as ho went, had won three holes in a row. Both drives were weak at the long thirteenth but after great seconds they were on in three. Sutherland’s lino putt for the four rimmed the cup and would not go down. They were square with two to go and Sutherland was bunkered at the seventeenth and a fine chip by Irwin at the eighteenth clinched tho match. Chapman, out in 36, played sound aud consistent golf against Paewai who was out of touch on occasions, and tho Manawatu man always had tho game in hand.

Amon, who secured a 3-lead in four ; holes, was kept going by Pharazyn and he won 3 and 1. Amon was playing really well and his driving and his shots to the green were features. At the I home hole Pharazyn sank a profitable 50-footer for the three. Ingham was threo up against Eaton at tho turn and although there were some who would not have been surprised if he had il compounded” at the homo turn, he finished with a good sequence for a decisive win. W. W. Smith was square with Kitt commencing tho inward half and he maintained the pressure to w T in 2 and 1. j. M. Ramsay shot a 77 off tho stick against Bullick, the young Dannevirke stylist. It was tough golf to play against but the fact that BulJick was beaten only 3 and 2 is an indication that he certainly possesses tho right temperament for match play. Ramsay ran down a putt for tho three at the home hole. I Johns, who has been playing good 'golf this season, beat J. Irwin 2 and I, but the Dannevirke man, who was three down at the turn, made a gallant fight to save the match.

Peter Barraud was two up on Henderson at the turn and he never slackened, winning his match on tho seventeenth green. Fisher and Horace Riddell had a good

tussle and they were square at the turn. Coming in Riddell was never off the mark and he won 3 and 2. Greenbank was one down to Herbert at the turn but from that on he played par golf until ho was two up. Prom that o*i Herbert matched every shot, and Gieenbank won 2 and 1. Ait':en played sound golf against Lindsay and after being one up at the turn he increased the pressure, winning 3 and 2.
