TAIKOREA CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY COMPANY, LIMITED The annual meeting of the Taikorea Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, was held at Taikorea on Monday, Mr. B. E. Algar presiding. The report and balance-sheet for tho year ended June 30, 1939, were adopted. The chairman expressed his pleasure at being able to present such a favourable report, which would compare with any cheese company in the district. He deplored the controversy respecting the guaranteed price principle. In his opinion the excellent pay-out of 3 3.48 d. per lb. of butteriat was duo to tho guaranteed price. So far the guaranteed price for the present season had not been announced. He felt sure that the new curing room now nearing completion would prove of benefit to the company's product. The factory would welcome a bigger supply of milk and would appreciate further suppliers linking up. He concluded by expressing his appreciation of the work of tho manager and his staff, his co-directors and tno secretary. Messrs. S. E. Algar and D. E. Johnston, the retiring directors, wero declared re-elected by the chairman, and Mr. R. H. Spencer was re-appointed auditor. It was decided to apply any surplus in tho appropriation account towards the cost of cooling and humidity control plant for the new curing room. The manager thanked tho suppliers for the excellent quality of milk supplied during tho past season, and with the better facilities offered by the new curing room he anticipated further improvement in quality and grade during the present season. The deferred payment cheques were distributed to the suppliers. The chairman advised that the proceeds of the sale of old timber held that day at the factory would be applied towards the cost of the new curing room. At a meeting of directors held at the close of the annual meeting Mr. Algar was re-elected chairman for the ensuing 12 months.
