From Our Own Correspondent. What promised to b© the severest frost of the season was spoilt on Tuesday night. The frost had already formed in the early evening and was very thick some hours later. However, in the early hours rain fell and dispersed it. The day continued cold, with slight showers. Heavy rain, accompanied by hail, fell during Monday and a fair amount of surface flooding took place. The conditions were anything but those required for the coming lambing season, which has already commenced on a few farms. The friends of Mrs. J. Ellery will be pleased to learn she has recovered from her recent illness. Mrs. I. N. Leet is spending a few days in town as a consequence of her mother’s illness. Mi's. H. Masters lifts returned from a few days in Bunnythorpe, where her mother, Mrs. Lassen, is indisposed. Mr. Ben. Frecklington lias been indisposed for some time but his friends wil* be pleased to learn he is slowly recovering.
