From Our Own Correspondent. Personal Mr. and Mrs. R. Stewart, of Hiwinui, have returned from a holiday, visit to the Islands. During their stay at Suva they visited their nephew, Mr. Foster Craine. Women’s Institute Committee A meeting of the committee of the women’s institute was held at the residence of Mrs. Harris, of Dixon’s Line. Arrangements were made to hold the birthday dance on August 10. An attractive afternoon has been arranged for the monthly meeting to be held on August 9. Euchre and Dance The hall committee held its first euchre and dance on Wednesday evening, when there was an excellent attendance. The winners were: Ladies, Mrs. R. Godfrey 3, Miss Price 2; men, Mr. A. Gee, jnr., 1, Mr. W. Andrew 2. The competition winner was Mrs. Godfrey. In view of the highly successful result of this first evening, the committee has decided to hold them every week The next will be on Tuesday eveliing.
Young Farmers’ Club The young farmers have arrangements well in hand for their dance, -which is being held on July 26. A very special effort is being made to ensure that this functfbn will be an outstanding event in the young farmers’ calender.
