A five-year-old peasant has been proclaimed the fourteenth Dalai Lama. lie was found in the tiny village of Taherhzhe, in the Kokpner province of China, and was sent to Lhasa. Lhasa is tho capital of Tibet and is the sacred city of the Buddhists. Fo: many years Europeans were forbidden to enter the city, but in 1904 it was occupied by a foreo of tho Indian Army.
