Settlers Show Sympathy
GIFT EVENING FOR COUPLE WHO LOST HOME BY FIRE
The sympathy of Alaharaliara settlers for Air. and Airs. Hickey, whose home was destroyed by fire a short time ago, was expressed in practical manner by the holding of a benefit gift evening in the school rooms on Thursday evening. Cards and dancing were the order of tho programme, Air. G. Harris being a capable AI.C. Air. G. Fairley played the dance music, while an extra was supplied by Air. R. Fairbrother. Among the many useful presents for which Air. Hickey returned thanks was a dinner service set given by the Alaliarahara branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union.
