To-day’s Recipe

WHOLEMEAL BOILED PUDDING Three cup 3 of wholemeal, 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, a large cup suet, 1 teaspoon ginger, 1 tablespoon ginger, 1 tablespoon marmalade, cup treacle, 1 cup of raisins or dates, 2 large carrots, 1 teaspoon soda, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, and enough water to mix like a cake mixture. Place flour, wholemeal, sugar, salt and ginger in a bowl, mince the suet, fruit and carrots and add. Dissolve the treacle in half a cup of hot water, add marmalade, dissolve soda in about two cups of cold water with cream of tartar, mix with the treacle etc., and then stir into the dry ingredients and mix well. Have ready a pudding cloth perfectly dry, pour in the mixture and tie up, leaving room to rise. Plungo into a saucepan of boiliug water and boil three hours. The success of this pudding is not to let the water go off the boil once. It is delicious with any sauce, is very wholesome and easy to digest.
