School Committee The monthly meeting of the Ashhurst School Committee was held with Mr. J H. Sumner presiding. In his report the headmaster, Mr. Finlay, stated the roll stood at 107, with an average attendance of 101.3. With the exception of a few colds the general health of the children was good. During the month Dr. Moore, with Nurse Scott, had visited the schooi and examined the pupils. In connection with the school’s agricultural plots and calf club, Mr. Lange had visited the school and talked to the children on the proposed routine to be carried out this year. The stewards for agriculture and calf club are Messrs. J. B. Se&rle and J. Curtis. It was decided that the shrubbery be attended to and more shrubs are to be planted in the near future. The school’s fancy dress ball is to be held on Friday, August 11, and arrangements are wfell in hand to ensure that it be successful.
