Harvard Crew Win Grand Challenge

AMERICAN ALSO ANNEXES DIAMONDS SCULLS Received Sunday, 9.20 p.m. LONDON, July 8. Harvard defeated Argonauts (Canada) in the Grand Challenge Cup event at the Henley Centennial regatta. Harvard won by three lengths in seven minutes forty seconds. In the Henley Diamonds Sculls Burk (America) defeated Verey (Poland) by a quarter of a length in nine minutes thirteen seconds. The Diamonds Sculls and Grand Challenge Cup were rowed in a strong wind nnd slight rain. The Canadians led over the first 300yds. after which Harvard took command without the possibility of being challenged. In the Diamonds Sculls Verey extended Burk for the first time in the course of the regatta, leading by 1$ lengths at the quarter mile. Burk made a successful spurt and thereafter led throughout.
