Bulls
From Our Own Correspondent. W.D.F.U. The Bulls junior division of the W.D.F.U. held their initial meeting on Monday evening last. Owing to the inclemency of the weather the attendance was only fair. Miss Guy (president) welcomed the members. Miss G. Tliorby was welcomed as a new member, it was decided to join the young farmers at the next meeting to listen to a lecture given by a member of the St. John’s Ambulance on first aid. Grand Gala and Fieid Day At a meeting of the Bulls District Young Farmers’ Club arrangements were finalised for the field day to be held on Mr. C. E. Vile’s property, “Pukenui,” on Thursday, July 13. Feature events are the dog trials, which will be a novelty to this trict. Other events are judging ol Romneys and Southdowns, sawing competitions, demonstrations on stock and harness horses, and several sporting fixtures. The judges and demonstrators in the sheep classes are Mr. C. E. Vile (Southdowns) and Mr. W. Morion, of Hunterville (Romneys). Mr. St. E. Hocken (Feilding) will demonstrate on tho horses and Mr. T. W. Norris will Judge the dogs. Messrs. A. Torrey, C. Torrey, C. Harris, F. J. Tliorby, C. B. Anderson and J. G. Wilson have been appointed as stewards, and, with the support and co-operation which the local branch of the Farmers’ Union have extended, the event promises to be an out standing success. The next meeting is set down for July 27 and the Free Ambulance Brigade at Marton is to be approached for a lecturer. Should one be forthcoming, the members of the junior W.D.F.U. are to be invited along. At the conclusion of the business Mr. K. O.
