From Our Own Correspondent. School Committee Mr. F. McKenzie presided over th» monthly meeting of the school committee. The head master, .Mr. R. The \tsltlng committeeman for the month will be Mr. A. O’Donnell. Gift Afternoon A pleasant gift afternoon was arranged by the women s institute for one of its members, Miss L. Gore, who was married recently. The afternoon was spent with items and competitions. Items were rendered by Miss D. Faulkner, Miss M. Abraham, .Miss P. Jepson and Miss S. vm' C w l ? pet * tio ?, w «nners were Mrs. MeMill.m, Miss L. Gore and Miss M. Abraham. The lucky cup went to Miss K Ritchie, of Knikohe. The president Mrs" Jackson, congratulated .Miss Gofe on her approaching marriage and asked h r m accept the gifts from her fellow members with best wishes for her future happiness. Opportunity was also taken to present Miss Gore with a gift of afternoon tea cups and saucers from the tennis club, of which Miss Gore is a member Hiss Oore returned thanks lor the gifts and intimated that aftei- her marriage she would still he an institute member.
