Melody Dance Club
The usual happy atmosphere prevailed at the fortnightly old-time and modern dance held by the Melody Dance Club in the Cosmopolitan llall, and in spite of the wet weather a very large crowd attended, many visitors being present from long distances. However, they were well rewarded for their journeys at a most delightful evening j was spent by all at this ever sociable ' function, a very gratifying feature, l>eing the promise shown by several newcomers. The charming array of colourful frocks presented a very pleasant scene. An apology was received from the performers who were engaged for the specialty item, owing to being indisposed. Exceptionally good music was rendered by a professional orchestra. Mr. W. Jordan very capably carried out the duties of M.C. Announcement was made by the M.C. that the Melody Dance Club would hold an old-time and modern ball shortly, but owing to many counter-attractions this has been postponed. A dainty and much-enjoyed supper was served by the committee under the supervision of the organiser, Miss W. R. Hnbbard. Midnight came all too soon for bringing the evening to a close with ■ the “Going Home” waltz and the playing of the National Anthem.
