Winds: Southerly still prevailing, strong on the east coast and in the Auckland Peninsula but decreasing gradually; otherwise light to moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough north of Kawhia and between Kaikoura and East Cape; moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh southerly winds and rather rough seas. Weather: Mainly fair to fine to the west of the ranges of both Islands; otherwise still changeable with occasional showers but a gradual improvement continuing.
