Skins and Hides

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their monthly auction sale of wool, sheepskins, hides and tallow, held on June 29, as follows: —A large catalogue was offered to a full bench, of buyers and competition was keen. Values for wool and sheepskins advanced, but hides and tallow were on a par.

Wool: Values were up from 2d to 4d per tb. Sheepskins There was a rise in values of 2d to id per lb. Hides: Hides were on a par, while calfskins advanced id to id per lb. Tallow': The market was still quiet. The following is the range of values:

Wool: Crossbred, 7£d to B|d; dead, 64d to 74d; erts, Ist, 74d to 8d; erts, 2nd, 6|d to 7id; pieces, to 54d; locks and pieces, to 3£d. Sheepskins: Lambs, 65d to 72; fine Ist, 82d to 9Jd; fine hgts, 7|d to 85(1; 2-full wools, Bid to 9id; 2-4 wools, 7£d to S£d; crossbred damaged,, 6£d to. 7£d; dead 4-wools, 54d to 64 d; pelts, 3d to 4d. Hides: Ox, light, 5d to 5Jd; cow, heavy, 5d to 54d; cow, medium, 5d to

54d; cow, light, 5d to 54 d; yearlings, s£d to Sd; calf, light, Ist, lOd to lOJd; calf, light, 2nd, 9id to lOJd; calf, cut, Sd to 9£d.

Tallow: In drums, Ist, 11s to 12s per cwt.; in tins, Ist, 6s to 8s per cwt.
