Measrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report holding a successful salo on account of Mr. J. E. Alatthews, Martou. The herd of tows which were a high-producing lot, having averaged factorv returns of 3261b5. butterfat last vear. sold readily, the average for the complete offering being £8 15s. Taking into account Marton not being a iaixying district this average proved very satisfactory to the vendor. Implements, etc., sold at fully up to rates ruling at other clearing sales. An outside offering of well backed springing heifers, due to calve in August, realised £lO for the line. A further offering realised £7 15s for the line, (^notations: —Best cows, early calvers, £S. £S 10s, £9, £9 10s, £9 15s, £lO, £lO 10s, £ll to £ll ss; later calving sorts, £6. £6 10s, £6 15s, £7, £7 ss, £7 10s, £9 10s; Jersey weaner heifers, £4 17s 6d. bow with litter of 12, £lO 10s; sows to farrow August, £4, £4 10s to £6,
