On Wednesday evening tse Pohangina Young Farmers' Club debating team out the Oroua Downs team In the first roirx4 for the Viles Cup, the subject being "That the farmer of to-day has an advantage over the farmer of 50 years agu " Mr. W. Howeli, stir., was in the chair and Mr. H. Kissling, of Palmerston North, was the adjudicator. Oroua Downs to* •< the affirmative side and Pohangina me negative. An interesting debate found the local team the winners by 242 points to 237.
