Why Was Russell in Detroit ?

PURE COINCIDENCE CLAIMED Received Wednesday, 2 a.m. DETRIOT, June 6. When arrested by three agents Sean Russell was in the company of Joseph McGarrity, from Philadelphia, the reputed leader of the Irish-American Society. The latter was not arrested. He was quoted as saying that he and Russell came to Detroit from Chicago to visit friends. They claimed that their arrival shortly before the fifteen-minute stop-over at Windsor (Ontario) of the King and Queen was purely coincidental.

A Detroit law firm has been retained to represent Russell.
