Germans in Spain Ordered to Return
ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL DRIVE United Press Association:—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON, May 11. A correspondent of the Daily Mail at Leon (Spain) says it officially announced that Herr Hitler has ordered the Condor Legion to return to Germany and that it is now concentrated at Leon for a farewell parade on May 22, after which it will entrain at Vigo to join a troopship. The Perpignan correspondent of the Daily Telegraph states that German influence in Spain is steadily increasing, and that Germany has launched a sustained drive to obtain economic and political benefits. A further 750 “technicians” have been landed at Vigo. VICTORY PARADE NEXT FRIDAY ITALIANS WAITING FOR IT Received Friday, 11.50 p.m. BURGOS, May 12. General Franco’s victory parade at Madrid is now fixed for May 39. After this, it is stated, the remaining Italian Legionaries will leave Spain.
