Sydney Labour Journal in Financial Difficulties
RECEIVER APPOINTED Received Midnight. SYDNEY, May 12. It is announced that a receiver has been appointed at the Daily News, formerly a Labour daily newspaper. The directors state that tho receiver’s appointment is tho outcome of an amicable arrangement with the Bank of New South Wales, which lias an overdraft in the vicinity of £50,000 over tho newspaper.
Efforts aro being made to sell the paper and plant by tender. Meanwhile the journal carries on as the official organ of the Industrial Labour Party, led by Mr. J. Heffron.
