Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An anti-cyclone is approaching across the north Tasman, but a aeries of slight westerly depressions continue to cross the South Island. Winds: North-west to south-west predominating, strong at times in places about and south of Cook Strait, but for the most part light to moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough in the far south, moderate to rather rough on the West Coast and about Cook Strait. Elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh south-west to westerly winds, with moderate to rather rough seas. Weather: Changeable wish occasional showers in districts with a westerly aspect. Otherwise for the most part fine, but with isolated showers probable in eastern parts of the South Island. Moderate day but cold night temperatures with some frosts.
