German Pressure on Lithuania
ECONOMIC DEMANDS IvOVNO (Lithuania), May 9. The Lithuanian delegation has returned from Berlin. Germany is reported to be demanding:— (1) That 45 per cent, of Lithuania’s exports should be directed to Germany in return for corresponding imports. (2) That Lithuania’s entire sea trado should go through Meracl. (3) That Lithuania must not build her own port. It is suggested that Lithuania should not build new industries in her own territory, but should use those of Memel, which were handed over to Germany.
