Morning Wedding
BAILEY—DEWAR St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Palmerston North, was tho scene of a quiet but smart wedding on the morning of April 5, the contracting parties being Iris Daphne, only daughter of Mrs and the late Henry Dewar, of Feilding district, and Colin Parker, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. A. Bailey, Feilding. The cererqpny was performed by the Rev. John Hubbard, M.A., B.D. Mr A. J. Graham presided at the organ. The bride who was given in marriage by Mr R. A. McFarland, a family friend, looked very smart attired in a brown tailored costume, with small peach bloom hat, veil and shoes to match. Her blouse was of faggotted oyster satin, gloves in the same toning were also worn. Her pretty posy was composed of rose buds, gladioli and maiden hair fern with ribbon and leaves in autumn tonings. In attendance on the bride, was her cousin, Miss Grace Mackintosh, of Marton, wearing a leaf green suit, with valour hat of a darker shade matching the button trimming of her suit. She carried a posy of roses iu shades of lemon and apricot toning with her blouse. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Lyn Bailey, of Feilding. After the ceremony near relatives and a few intimate friends were entertained at Messrs Collinson and Cunninghamo’s, where they were received by the bride’s mother attired in a smart ensemble of black pin stripe cloth, while crepe de chine blouse, and black velour hat relieved with white osprey adorning her black furs was a shoulder spray of autumn berries and leaves. Mrs J. A. Bailey assisted wearing q black tailored costume, with a cream lace blouse, black hat and furs. She carried a hand spray of red berries and leaves. The posies and spray were the gift of Mrs E. P. Bailey, Newbury. After the usual toasts were honoured the happy couple left for a motor tour of the North, the bride adding to her esemble a brown fur stole, gloves and bag. Their future home will be in Tre win Street, Feilding.
