Pork Prices Rise

SHEEP MARKET DULL WEEKLY SALE IN LEVIN Smaller yardings than usual were offered at Tuesday's stock sale in Levin. Prices for porkers showed a substantial increase, but weaners and stores were hard to quit. Fat cattle and vealers sold on a par with recent rulings, while dairy stock close to profit was in demand at rates in favour of the vendors. The recent quota on mutton shipments to Great Britain was reflected in tho sheep section, where the sale dragged and disposals were made at lower values. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report sales at the following realisations: Pigs; Light porkers, 255, 27s 6d, 30s, 32s fid, 355; medium do, 375, 395, £2, £2 2s, £2 ss; heavy do., £2 7s 6d, £2 10s, £2 12s, £2 14k; baconers, £3, £3 7s, £3 Sk; weaners, 4s to 6s 6d; stores, 8s to 11s. Sheep: Fat wethers, 17s fid; fat lambs, 18s 2d; fat ewes, 15s 6d; store lambs, 32s lOd to I3s 7d; wether lambs, 7s 8d; store ewes, 6s lOd to 11s Id. Cattle: Light fat cows, £2 12s 6d, £2 17s fid, £2 19s, £3; medium do., £3 7s 6d, £3 10s, £3 15s, £3 17s fid, £4; heavy do., £4 10s, £4 15s, £5, £5 10s; vealers, 22s fid, 30s, 355, £2, £2 8s; runners, £3 and £3 Is; store cows, 32s 6d, 38s, £2; potter bulls, £2 10s to £5; springing cows, to £7 ss; springing hrifers, to £7 15s; heifers in milk, £&• to £9 15s. Gs 6d.
