From Our Owu CoxTespondent. Young Farmers’ Club Debating Team Congratulations to the Apiti Young Farmers’ Club debating team, Messrs. Howard Viles (leader), Alan Viles and Archie Cowan, on their success in being the winners in the final of the inter-club elimination contest against Woodville. The coach, Mr. J. R. Osborne, is also to be congratulated, as he has taken groat interest in coaching the Apiti debaters. Domain Board Tho annual meeting of the Apiti Domain Board is advertised for Thursday evening, and a large attendance of ail interested in Domain Board affairs will be welcome. Golf Three new players, Messrs. Em Schmidt, Eric Schmidt and Tom Osborne. have- joined the ranks of Apiti golfers. At the week-end a stroke competition was played for purposes of handicapping and the best card was from Eric Schmidt, 51, 54, 36—69. At the weekend an eclectic competition will be played. Farmers’ Union Omitted from the repon. of the Ajuti Farmers’ Union meeting was the tact that as yet there have not been sufficient entries in the root cx-ops classes to warrant a competition. Whether this is <fue to the draught having affected the crops or to oversight on the part of members was not stated. Harvest Festival Concert The Persbyterian Church annual harvest festival concert was held on Mondav evening and, although the audience was not as large as at last year’s function, the financial result of the evening was most successful. Rev. A. L. Dixon, of Feilding, was the chairman, and an enjoyable programme was presented by Feilding artists. Vocal solos by Rev. Dixon, Misses M. McDonall and M. Sanbrook, and Mr. D. MacFai-lane, instnxmental items by Miss Weir, Mr. Lancashire and Mr. D. MacFaxiane, elocutionary numbers by Mrs. A. L. Dixon and Miss Taylor, and a vocal trio by the ladies provided a varied and entertaining programme. Rev. L. J. Hodson thanked Rev. Dixon and his Feilding friends for providing the programme, and then called on Mr. Wm. McKay to auction the harvest gifts, which met with ready sale. Mr. McKay was accorded a vote of thanks for his help. Mesdames Hodson, Bensemann, MeNicol, H. Mapson, Misses Cowan, Paterson, A. Hodson Aid A. Bensemann then served supper to all present. Personal Mr. C. M. Stanley, of Apiti, was the winner in the men’s restricted vocal solo at the Palmerston North competitions, his song being "Ships of Arcady.’’ In tho national song Mr. Stan lay was placed second, his choice being the Welsh song "All Thro’ the Night.” Mr. and Mrs. G. Watkins, with Stanley and Colin, are visiting Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Morris arc at present holidaying- in New Plymouth,
