Recent Wedding at Foxton
REILLY—SPRING A pretty wedding was solemnised recently at All Saints’ Church, when Hazel Victoria, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Spring, of Foxton, was married to Leslie John, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Reilly, of Rangiwahia. The Rev. E. W. Burgin was the officiating minister. Escorted by her father, the bride looked charming in a model gown of ivory French satin, embossed with gold. It was designed on slim-fitting lines, the bodice featuring the new heart-shaped neckline and sleeves puffed at tho shoulder and tight-fitting at the waists, and the skirt flared from tho waist-lino to form a slight Her beautiful tulle veil which was embroidered in gold, was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom and sho carried a lovely sheaf of cream gladioli, roses and chrysanthemums. Attending tho brido was her sister, Mis 3 Fiona Spring, who was frocked in nil green Swiss embroidered organza made with tightly fitting bodice with full puffed sleeves, the skirt being slightly flared at tho hemline. The waist was encircled with a wide sash of green and mauve georgette and she w r ore a veil of greeu tulle and carried a bouquet of matching flowers. Miss Dell Spring, cousin of tho bride, and Barry Bowater, nephew of the bride, were trainbearers. Tho former was woaring an accordeon pleated frock of mauve floral georgette and a halo of mauve flowers, gold leaves and ribbon and carried a posy to tone, while the latter was attired in a cream satin suit with accordeon pleated trimming. Mr Arthur Reilly, brother of the bridegroom, officiated as best man. As the bridal party loft tho church, the bride was presented with a gold horseshoe by her little niece, Diane Bowater.
The reception was held at the Town Hall supper room whero the quests were received by Mrs W. Spring and Mrs Reilly. Mrs Spring was attired in a black redingote over a black floral frock and wore a black hat and accessories to tone and Mrs Reilly was wearing a mermaid frock with matching hat and accessories.
The beautiful three-tired wedding cake was made and given by the brido's 6ister, Mrs Falconer, of Hastings, and was iced by her brother-in-law, Mr L. Bowater, of Marotiri.
When the happy couple left later by car for the East Coast, the bride travelled in a blue wool georgette edge to edge coat over a mermaid green model frock and she wore a mermaid green hat and navy accessories.
