Broker’s Golf Wager

TO PLAY 144 HOLES IN DAY AND BREAK 95 EACH ROUND

United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.

Received Friday, 10 p.m. CHICAGO, Aug. 4.

Starting at 12.40 ami., J. Smith Perrebe, aged 31, a broker, will tomorrow attempt to play 144 holes, wagering half his Virginian plantation, worth 15,000 dollars, and 2600 dollars cash. Ferrebe will be accompanied by a doctor, a scorer and three caddies, who will be changed every 36 holes. He is confident of doing 144, but is worried whether he can * ‘ shoot ’ ’ every round under 95 as wagered. Ferrebe and another broker wanted to dissolve partnership in the plantation. They could not agree on terms and finally decided on the wager.
