Feilding rate demands issued on July 15 last have already brought forth a satisfactory response, the town clerk (Air. C. H. Tate) announcing yesterday that a sum of £IOOO had been paid. Two new residences were included in the threo building permits for work valued at £IB3O issued in the borough of Feilding during the month of July. Feilding basketball teams which journeyed to Rongotea on Saturday afternoon met defeat at the hands of the home teams in games played in very unpleasant weather conditions. The Feilding A team lost by 16 to four and the B team by 16 to three.
