Miss Elsie Andrews, M.8.E., To Visit City
Plans are now complete for the visit of Miss Elsie Andrews, M.8.E., to Palmerston North this week for the purpose of stimulating interest in the women’s pan-Pacific conference to be held in New Zealand for the first time in. 1940. Miss Andrews is chairman of the New Zealand Women’s Committee and has herself attended the conferences as a New Zealand delegate, so that the women of the Manawatu will have the unique opportunity of firsthand information. Miss Andrews will address a public meeting iu St. Andrew’s Hall on Thursday afternoon at 2.15 p-m. and a further meeting of tho Business and Professional Women’s Round Table and Business Girls’ Club, at the Y.W.C.A. in the evening. On Thursday morning she will talk to members of the Manawatu County Club. Miss Andrews will arrive in the city on Wednesday evening and during her stay will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Black, Argyle avenue.
