Golden Wedding Celebration
MR. AND MRS. H. WORSFOLD, OF FEILDING. The 50th anniversary of their marriage was celebrated on Saturday by Mr. and Mrs. H. Worsfold, of Sandi- , lands street, Feilding, when a dinner and dance were held in the Drill hall, at which there were present friends and relatives from various parts of tho Dominion. Over 80 guests sat down to dinner, while 150 were present at the dance which followed. Numerous congratulatory telegrams were received, including ono from the Prime Minister and members of the Cabinet. The following toasts were honoured: “The Parents,” proposed by Mr. J. Evans, responded to by Mr. 11. Worsfold; “The Children,” proposed by Mr 11. Davidson, responded to by Mr. R. H. Worsfold; “The Bridesmaid” (Mrs. Gower), proposed by Mr. M. WorsfeTd, responded to by Mr. R. A. Gower; Mrs. F. Jackson (for making and decorating tho cake), proposed by Mr. R. A. Gower. Those present were: Mr. J. Evans, Mr. and Mrs. J. Tobeck, Mrs. Geary, Mr. and Mrs. H. Davidson, Mr. and Mrs. R. Telford, Mr. and Mrs. Z. McLeod, Mr. and Mrs. H. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. W. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. J. Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. White, Mr. and Mrs. C. Aitken, Mrs. W. Dewe, Mr. and Mrs. G. Coleman, Mr. and Mrs. J. Barltrop, Mrs. Kitchen, Miss L. Guy, Mr. Mitchell, Mr., Mrs. and Miss Julian. Miss H. Hindrup, all of Feilding, Mr. and Mrs. F. Jackson, senr. (Palmerston •North), Mrs. Thompson (Marton), Mr. and Mrs. Farr, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Gower (Ohingaiti), Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Foster (Glen Oroua), Mr. R. Mortelli (Wellington), Mrs. S. Mitchell (Napier road), and Mrs. H. E. Willhelm (Tauranga). The children and their families wore represented by the following: Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Worsfold and Miss Doris Worsfold (Gisborne), Mr. and Mrs. C. Dunstall (Napier), Mr. Alex Worsfold and Miss J. Worsfold (Wellington), Mrs. W. Hiscox and family (Feilding). Mr. and Mrs. R. Worsfold and family (Ohingaiti), Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Morris and family (Feilding), Mr. and Mrß. F. Jackson (Palmerston North), Mr. and Mrs. White (Feilding), Mr. F. Worsfold and family (Feilding), Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Worsfold and family (Carterton). At the conclusion of the dance Mr. J. Telford, on behalf of those present, thanked Mr. and Mrs. Worsfold for the enjoyable evening spent and congratulated them on their anniversary. He hoped they would be spared to celebrate further anniversaries.
