OBITUARY
Mrs. E. M. Pallesen EARLY SETTLER PASSES The lato Mrs. E. M. Pallesen, of Hopelands, who was aged 79 years, was very highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was born in Denmark and came out to New Zealand some 54 years ago. For a number of years she resided in the Waikato and later moved to Papakura, a settlement between Napier and Hastings, where she lived more than 20 years ,after which she came to the Hopelands district. Her funeral, which took place on Saturday, was attended by a large number of settlers from this and other districts, paying their tributes of respect to a colonist ot sterling qualities.
