Crowds Wait in Rain J. DICK’S SPORTING GESTURE _ or Press Association. * WELLINGTON, Last Night. The team of 25 All Blacks Dr. G. J. Adams and Mr. A. AlcDonald as managers left Wellington by the Wanganella this afternoon on its Australian tour. In addition to Air. McDonald, the 1905-07 All Blacks were represented by Mr. J. J. O’Sullivan, of Taranaki, who travelled with the team. Five of the players, Griffiths, Lambourn, King and McKenzie (1931 AH Blacks), and Phillips (N.Z. Maoris, 1935), were bound on their second Rugby tour of Australia. To farewell the team a largo crowd had gathered On Queen’s Wharf despite the rain, though not all waited from the scheduled time of departure. 4 p.m., until 5.10 p.m. when the Wanganella loft her berth. Before the departure of the ship, A. Wright, of Wellington, was handed the following telegram from J. Dick, of Auckland, who was prevented from travelling witi. the team by an attack of measles and Wright replaced: “Congratulations on ejection and wishing you best of luctv Convey to team niv best wishes for success. Johnny Dick.” Wright had time to send the following reply: “Many (hanks, Johnny. Very sporting of you. Will do my best. Have conveyed your message to team.” The team and its managers were the guests of tho New Zealand Rugby Union Executive at the City Hotel this afternoon, the morning having been spent by the players in completing a fitting of clothing and other gear and in meeting friends. At the afternoon gathering the 1905 All Blacks were represented by Messrs. W. J. Wallace and F. Glasgow, of the N.Z.R.U. executive; A. AlcDonald, one of the team managers; and J. J. O’Sullivan. Air.
