TWO FEATURES TO-NIGHT j 1 ‘Venus Makes Trouble” and “1 I Promise to Pay” will be screened at S p.m. James Dunn and Patricia Ellis have the leading roles in 4 4 Venus Makes Trouble,” a fast moving romantic comedy. Miss Ellis, according to the story, is in love with the voluble Jimmy, but decries the fact that he won’t give up bis promotional work for a nice steady job like other boys have. Jimmy has so far been limiting his stunts to the small town in which ho lives, but suddenly he gets the urge to try New York. In no time at all, he’s stony broke. Things get so bad, he’s subsisting on peanuts when Ellis catches up with him. The peanuts, however, give her an idea for a peanut sales campaign, which Jimmy' puts over with great skill. He rapidly becomes known as an ace exploiteer. Things are going well until an unscrupulous reality ‘operator wants to get rid of some • swamp land, and they assign a blonde I to make up to Jimmy—and put over the deal. What happens when Jimmy finds out that he's been tricked and that he has £20,000 "worth of watery land on his hands must be seen to be fully appreciated. “I Promise to Pay” is a gripping drama of the underworld, featuring Chester Morris and Leo Carrillo.
