MANAWATU TAP DANCE CONTEST To be staged shortly in Palmerston i North is tho Manawatu tap dance cou- \ test, which will give boys and girls an , opportunity of displaying their versa- | tility in the intricate and rhythmic steps of this popular form of dancing. , It will give ambitious boys aud girls an , opportunity to prove their talents for !j possible stago work in the future. ; j An unusual featuro of the competi- . j t ion, and an important one, is that the | members of tho audience will act as r adjudicators. They will be handed a r voting card to be filled in and returned , to the manager’s office, t The contest commences at 10 a.m. on } Saturday, July 9, and will be conducted t under the auspices of the Kosy Theatre . management. Contestants must be rej sident of the Manawatu district and - may enter either the section for 10 j years and under or for 14 years and £ under, there being special prizes in j each section. The ehampion of cham- - pious, who will be awarded a silver cup, i will be decided from these two classes, t ; Entries close at noon on July 7.
