A Quiet Easter Wedding

A quiet wedding was solemnised on Easter Monday morning at St. Patrick’s Homan Catholic Church, Broadway, Palmerston North, by Father Jensen, when Mary Josephine, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Murrow, Grey street, Shannon,.was married to Arthur John (Jack), only son of Mr. and. Mrs. A. Dickens, Whairgarei. Mr. Murrow escorted his daughter, who was attired in a smartly tailored navy blue costume with which she wore a white blouse, small navy hat Jw*th eye veil and navy accessories. She carried a bouquet of white pompom dahlias, chrysanthemums, gypsophila and maiden hair fern. Miss Thelma Dickens, sis.ter of ibe bridegroom, was the only bridesmaid and she also wore a tailored navy blue costume and navy accessories, a touch of contrasting colour being added by her bouquet of pink dahlias and maiden hair fern. Tho best man was Mr.- Edwin Murrow, brother of the bride. A luncheon party was afterwards held at the Hotel Midland, where the guests were received by Mrs. Murrow and Mrs. Dickens (the bridegroom’s mother), who had travelled, accompanied by her husband ,from Whangarei to be present at the wedding. When tho guests all seated at the table, the dining-room doors were thrown open and a piper of the Wellington Pipe Band which was in Palmerston North for the Pipe Band Contest, marched in and played, musical honours for the newly-weds, the rest of. the band standing the while and concluding the performance with cheers.
