A depression is still located over the North Tasman, and pressure is relatively low in the far north and off the west coast of the Dominion. Winds: South-easterly at first in the Cook Strait area and between Cape Palliser and East Cape, moderate to strong and in j)laces reaching gale force; otherwise moderate to strong east to north-east prevailing. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rough north of Hokitika and Kaikoura, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman: Moderate to strong east to north winds and rough seas. W’eather: Cloudy to overcast and in places misty, with further rain in most districts; some heavy falls about and north of Cook Strait, but only light and scattered in the southern portion of the South Island; some improvement probable to-morrow.
