Kimbolton
From Our Own Correspondent. Oddfellows’ Lodge.
N.G. Bro. J. Pentney presided at the fortnightly meeting last week, and welcomed visitors from Apiti and Rangiwnhia, of whom there were about twenty. Bros. J. Nix. Junr., and F. Prujean replied on behalf of their respective lodges. In a farewell to Bro. Stackhouse. Bro. McMurtrle, on behalf of the Apiti and Rangiwaiiia Lodges, presented the guest of the evening with a cheque, and Bro. E. W. Beard, of the Kimbolton Lodge, presented Bro. Stackhouse with a silver asn-tray. Both the speakers expressed the regrets of their respective lodges that Bro. Stackhouse was leaving the district, and hoped that his health, which had not been good of late, would soon be improved. Bro. Stackhouse thanked the speakers for their kind words and the members of the lodges for the gifts. A capable committee has been formed, and arrangements are well in hand for the Oddfellows' ball, which will be held during May. After lodge, supper. cards and community singing were enjoyed.
