The Sandon Hall Committee wrote with reference to alterations to the hall. Many opinions were expressed, and it was eventually decided that the Association lend its support to the proposal to shift the eastern wall out a further ten feet. Delegates elected to attend the meeting: of the hall committee were Messrs K. M. Pearce, R. Anderson and A. Matthews.

The chairman stated he was pleased tc see such an excellent attendance, but referred with regret to many who had passed on during the course of the year. He read the following list, mostly of old settlers and parents of old pupils of the Association: Mrs M. A. Hammond, Mr H. Gray, Mrs A. Lammas. Mrs N. Fanthorpe, Mrs S. Robinson, Mr W. Bennett, Mrs G. Port, Mrs P. Walters, Mrs A. Guthrie, Mrs I. Matthews, Mrs Tomlinson. Mr A. Harris, Mr Frank Grace and Mr James Harris. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to these deceased.

The secretary read the balance sheet, which was received. Considerable discussion followed on the loss entailed in the holding of the annual dinner in Palmerston North. Although the loss was £5, the Association still had a working credit balance of £9 Os 2d over all proceeds for the year.

The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr A. Matthew's; president, Mr K. M. Pearce; vice-presidents. Messrs H. R. Bo water, S. Avery, O. C. Ellerm, B. S. Laurence and R. Anderson; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Nesbit; assistant secretary, Mr C. N. Oppatt; general committee, Messrs J. C. Fagan. C. E. J. Eglinton, O. C. Ellerm and D. Hammond. Several members expressed their pleasure at Mr K. M. Pearce accepting the office of president, recalling the excellent work Mr Pearce had done as secretary to the Association.

It was decided to hold the annual dinner

on the night of the Palmerston North Spring Show. The general comittee was authorised to spent the usual £2 on relief to old boys.

Mr H. J. Fagan proposed, on the suggestion of Mr W. Croucher, that the Old Boys’ Association consider the presentation of a memorial gate in connection with the erection of the centennial memorial to be constructed on Mount Stewart to the pioneers of the settlement. A resolution was passed that the annual meeting give power to a special general meeting to act in this matter. The secretary was Instructed to communicate with the past president and thank him for his services during the past year and it was unanimously resolved that his name be added to the honours board of past presidents and the usual badge presented.

Tennis Clue,

A general meeting of the Tennis Club was held on Saturday evening, the president, Mr E. J. Bowater, presiding. A letter was received from the Halcombe Tennis Club extending an invitation to visit Halcombe at the week-end. The secretary reported that it was not possiole to arrange transport, and it was therefore decided to advise Halcombe that tao club regretted the match would have to be postponed in the meantime The Sanson Hall Committee wrote with reference to alterations to the hall. It was decided that the club lend its support to the proposition to repair the wall in its standing position, but that should the committee decide to shift the wall out a further ten feet, every assistance -will be given to raise the necessary finance. Delegates appointed to attend the meeting of the hall committee were Miss L. Gedye, Mr M. Sanson and Mr J. Bradley. In connection with the club’s annual dance, the secretary reported that it was difficult to secure the hall, and that the earliest date that could be arranged to suit both orchestra and the hall was May 12. It was decided to hold the dance on this date.

A tennis match was played on the local courts at the week-end, when teams representing Sanson and Kopane met in a friendly game. Kopane proved victorious, defeating Sanson by 9 sets. Do games to 7 sets, 67 games. Fallowing are the results, Kopane players being mentioned first:—

Men’s singles: E. Norris lost to D. Leitch, L. Lancaster beat R. Meyer, A Thompson beat J. Bradley, V. Niv beat K. Lumsden.

Women’s singles: Miss M. Nix beat Miss L. Lumsden, Miss E. lioddy lost to Miss M. Butler, Miss M. Wilton beat Miss J, Butler, Miss B. Jones beat Miss L. Gedye.

Men’s doubles: Norris and Lancaster lost to Leitch and Meyer; Thompson and Nix beat Lumsden and Bradley. Women's doubles: Misses Nix and Boddy beat Misses Lumsden and M. Butler; Misses Wilton' and Jones lost to Misses J. Butler and Gedye. Mixed doubles: Miss Nix and Norris lost to Miss Lumsden ana Leitcn; Miss Boddv and Lancaster beat Miss M. Butler and . Meyer; Miss Witton and Thompson lost to Miss J. Butler stnei Bradley; Miss Jones and Nix lost to Miss Gedye and K. Lumsden.

Psrsonal. Mr and Mrs M. J. Smith were week-end visitors to Tangimoana. Miss B. Tery, of Levin, was the guest of Mrs S. A. Harris over the week-end. Mr E. J. Bowater has been appointed the Government's representative on the Foxton Harbour Board.
