Severe Illness Follows Meal
THREE OF FAMILY ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. Last Night. As a result of severe illness following a meal on Monday night three members of a Papakura family were admitted to the Auckland hospital early this morn ing suffering fiom food poisoning. The sufferers were Mrs. \V. G. Markwieli. aged 53, of Papakura, and her daughters Melva, aged 23, and Hazel, aged 19 After being attended by a doctor at Papakura they were taken in an ambu lance to the Auckland hospital where the condition of Melva and Mrs. Mark wich was reported to be satisfactory. That of Hazel Markwich, however, was still fairly serious. It is believed the illness was due to corned beef eaten by the three as the other members of the family who ate mutton instead were not affected.
