TWO MEN INJURED
Motor-cyclists Thrown In Collision With Car BOTH IN HOSPITAL From Our Own CorrespondeniWAIPUKURAU, Last Night. Two young Hastings men are in the Waipukurau Hospital with serious injuries following a collision between the motor-cycle they were riding and a motor-car, near Takapau this morning. The motor-cycle was being ridden by Mr Leon McCormick, aged 21, of 804 Oliphant road, Hastings, who had as a passenger Mr George Pratt, aged 24. of Southland road, Hastings. The e?;act nature of their injuries is not known.
The car with which they collided was driven by Mr John Dutton Powdrell, a physicist at the Wellington Public HosDital, who escaped injury in the collision, but had his left hand badly burnt when he attempted to lift the overturned motor-cycle.
The accident occurred six E'iles from Waipukurau at 6.15 o’clock this morning. The roaJ surface was wet at the time following heavy rain during the night. A cyclist was knocked from his bicycle and suffered concussion and abrasions when he collided with a motorcar at Clive on Saturday evening. The injured man, Mr. C. W. Waites, was lear the bridge at Clive when he was lit by a car driven by Mr. S. Tanner. He was taken to the Napier Public Hospital in the ambulance, but was discharged the following morning.
