Lord Londonderry in his book “Ourselves and Germany, 77 recalling his unofficial visit to Herr Hitler in 1936, says that Hitler told him that perhaps the time would come when England would have to consider whether active friendship with Germany was more important than the possession of a coupip of colonies, which were of no great value to the British Empire.
