LACKHAM LEAVES FOB SYDNEY TO-DAY The Ashhurst studmaster, Mr. W. T. Bailey, leaves for Australia to-day and he has booked accommodation on the Awatoa for the successful stallion, Lackham, and for three yearlings, all by Lackham, and a two-year-old, by Lackham or Musketoon. The two-year-old is a bay gelding out of Limoka (Limond —Oka). One of the yearlings is a brown filly, out of Great Lady, and she is a full sister to Distinguished. The others are chestnut colts, one being out of Panette, and a half-brother to Pantoon, and the other is out of Royal. Queen. He is a full brother to Diamond Cutter and halfbrother to Royal Tinge and Goiden Enterprise. Mr. Bailey expects to be away about five weeks. FAST TRACK GALLOPS FAVOURED American trainers believe in setting , their charges stiff training track tasks before asking them to race. It was mentioned by a Lexington paper that War Admiral, the crack three-year-old of last season, did a mile track gallop in 3.40 1-5 at the commencement of last month. He was expected to have his first race of the season at Hialeah Park on February 19. At any of the courses in this part of the world a training gallop of 1.40 1-5 for a mile would create a sensation.
