City Abattoirs
OPERATIONS DURING PAST YEAR A slight increase in the number of stock slaughtered at the Palmerston North City Council’s abattoirs during tho past financial year was recorded in a report presented by the manager (Mr A. M. Bpilman) to last night’s meeting of the council. The figures for tho year were as follow (in parentheses are given those for 1936-37): Cattle 5,66‘J (.5,916), calves 404 (261), sheep 17,12*’ (17,281), lambs 2,057 (2,165), pigs 144’ (950) total 26,990 (26,573).
