WOODVLLLE SALE. MONDAY, 2STH MARCH, 1938. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report a small yarding of both sheep and cattle at the above sale. The entry in the sheep section was comprised of aged ewes and cull lambs for which very little interest was shown. The entry of cattle was comprised principally of fat cows ex the dairy, these selling at late rates. Quotations: — Five and 6-year ewes, I6s, 17s, ISs, 18s 9d, 19s, 21s; fattening ewes, 10s, 11s, 11s 6d to 12s; fat ewes, 14s 6d, .15s, 15s 6d to 16s; woolly wether lambs, 13s, 13s 6d to 15s; fat cows, £4 10s, £4 15s, £5, £5 ss, £5 10s, £6; fat heifers, £3, £5 ss, £5 10s, £6 to £6 15s. ASHHURST SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on the above fixture held on 30th March, as under:— A small yarding of sheep which consisted mainly of store lambs, was submitted. The market for lambs was inclined to be dragging and values received were in most cases below vendors' ideas. A full yarding of cattle came forward. Fat cattle sold well up to late rates, a total clearance being effected. Store and boner cows met with a good sale, prices being slightly in excess of late rates.
